Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR4717 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR4717’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where MIR4717 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR4717 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, LUSC, and THCA are the cancer types where MIR4717 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
