Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR3909 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR3909’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MIR3909 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR3909 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, STAD, and UCEC are the cancer types where MIR3909 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
