Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR3156-2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MIR3156-2 data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher MIR3156-2 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MIR3156-2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM and ESCA show a favorable association.

HNSC, SKCM, and UVM are the cancer types where MIR3156-2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
