Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR3136 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR3136’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MIR3136 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR3136 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, STAD, and THCA are the cancer types where MIR3136 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
