Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR301A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR301A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where MIR301A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR301A is over-expressed in tumor.
STAD are the cancer types where MIR301A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
