Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR22HG RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR22HG’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MIR22HG RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR22HG is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, THCA, and BLCA are the cancer types where MIR22HG tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
