Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR196A1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 18 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MIR196A1 data layer.
The strongest signal is observed in thymoma (THYM), where higher MIR196A1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MIR196A1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as READ and UCS show a favorable association.
THYM, KIRC, and UCEC are the cancer types where MIR196A1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
