Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR193A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR193A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where MIR193A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR193A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, KICH, and BRCA are the cancer types where MIR193A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
