Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR17HG RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR17HG’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where MIR17HG RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR17HG is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, READ, and STAD are the cancer types where MIR17HG tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
