Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MICAL1 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MICAL1 data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher MICAL1 mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MICAL1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PDAC show a favorable association.

GBM, LSCC, and LUAD are the cancer types where MICAL1 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
