Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MFSD14C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MFSD14C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where MFSD14C RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MFSD14C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where MFSD14C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
