Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, METTL8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated METTL8 data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where higher METTL8 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated METTL8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
KICH, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where METTL8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
