Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, METTL3 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated METTL3 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where higher METTL3 Mutation is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated METTL3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA and UCEC show a favorable association.
BLCA, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where METTL3 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
