Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, METTL22 RNA is linked to patient survival in 22 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated METTL22 data layer compared with 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher METTL22 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated METTL22 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BRCA and READ show a favorable association.
KIRC, ACC, and STAD are the cancer types where METTL22 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
