Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, METTL16 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated METTL16 data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher METTL16 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated METTL16 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
HNSC, SARC, and UCEC are the cancer types where METTL16 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
