Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, METTL15 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of METTL15’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where METTL15 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types METTL15 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, LIHC, and CHOL are the cancer types where METTL15 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
