Across TCGA patient cohorts, MEST protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 7,690 significant associations in total. LSCC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MEST-associated genes across cancer lineages are MESTIT1, SMIM17, and ERCC2. Each is linked with MEST in more than 5 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MEST-to-partner and partner-to-MEST results are reported.

Each partner links to its own Q-omics profile. The scatter plot shows the strongest example, MEST versus MESTIT1 in HNSC, with a Pearson correlation of 0.39.
