Across TCGA patient cohorts, MECOM protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 10,617 significant associations in total. LUAD shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MECOM-associated genes across cancer lineages are MECOM-AS1, GPD1L, and VSIG2. Each is linked with MECOM in more than 5 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MECOM-to-partner and partner-to-MECOM results are reported.
