Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MDH1B RNA is linked to patient survival in 18 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MDH1B data layer compared with 7 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where higher MDH1B RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MDH1B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BRCA and READ show a favorable association.

BRCA, LIHC, and READ are the cancer types where MDH1B RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
