Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MC5R RNA is linked to patient survival in 28 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MC5R data layer compared with 3 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher MC5R RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MC5R expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LUAD and TGCT show a favorable association.

COAD, ACC, and STAD are the cancer types where MC5R RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
