Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MC3R Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MC3R data layer compared with 16 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in brain lower grade glioma (LGG), where higher MC3R Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MC3R expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.

LGG, STAD, and ACC are the cancer types where MC3R Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
