Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MBTD1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MBTD1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MBTD1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MBTD1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, KIRC, and CHOL are the cancer types where MBTD1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
