Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MBP mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MBP data layer compared with 19 for mass-spec protein and 5 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), where higher MBP mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MBP expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and UCEC show a favorable association.

LSCC, GBM, and CCRCC are the cancer types where MBP mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
