Across TCGA patient cohorts, MARCO protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 6,111 significant associations in total. LSCC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MARCO-associated genes across cancer lineages are HMOX1, RIN3, and CD33. Each is linked with MARCO in more than 3 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MARCO-to-partner and partner-to-MARCO results are reported.
