Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MAP1LC3B mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MAP1LC3B data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher MAP1LC3B mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MAP1LC3B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as GBM show a favorable association.
HNSC, LSCC, and UCEC are the cancer types where MAP1LC3B mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
