Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MAL2-AS1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MAL2-AS1 data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher MAL2-AS1 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MAL2-AS1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and BLCA show a favorable association.

UVM, COAD, and ESCA are the cancer types where MAL2-AS1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
