Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LRRC8B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LRRC8B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where LRRC8B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LRRC8B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, KICH, and STAD are the cancer types where LRRC8B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
