Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LRRC8A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated LRRC8A data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher LRRC8A mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated LRRC8A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and UCEC show a favorable association.
CCRCC, UCEC, and HNSC are the cancer types where LRRC8A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
