Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LOX RNA is linked to patient survival in 25 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated LOX data layer compared with 8 for mutation status and 5 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher LOX RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated LOX expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UVM and UCS show a favorable association.
MESO, STAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where LOX RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
