Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LIPJ RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LIPJ’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where LIPJ RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LIPJ is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, LIHC, and BRCA are the cancer types where LIPJ tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
