Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LINC02228 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LINC02228’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where LINC02228 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LINC02228 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, LIHC, and KIRC are the cancer types where LINC02228 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
