Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LINC01972 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LINC01972’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where LINC01972 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LINC01972 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, HNSC, and BRCA are the cancer types where LINC01972 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
