Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LINC00971 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LINC00971’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where LINC00971 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LINC00971 is over-expressed in tumor.

KIRP, LUAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where LINC00971 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
