Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LINC00942 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LINC00942’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where LINC00942 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LINC00942 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and PRAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where LINC00942 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
