Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LINC00691 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LINC00691’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where LINC00691 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LINC00691 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, HNSC, and LIHC are the cancer types where LINC00691 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
