Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LINC00556 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LINC00556’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where LINC00556 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LINC00556 is over-expressed in tumor.

LUSC, BRCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where LINC00556 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
