Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LGALS16 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated LGALS16 data layer compared with 14 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher LGALS16 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated LGALS16 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
SKCM are the cancer types where LGALS16 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
