Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, LCE3E RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of LCE3E’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where LCE3E RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types LCE3E is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUSC, BLCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where LCE3E tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
