Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRT8P45 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KRT8P45’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where KRT8P45 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KRT8P45 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, LUAD, and STAD are the cancer types where KRT8P45 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
