Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRT6B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KRT6B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where KRT6B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KRT6B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, LUSC, and BRCA are the cancer types where KRT6B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
