Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRT40 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated KRT40 data layer compared with 19 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher KRT40 Mutation is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated KRT40 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
SKCM, PRAD, and ESCA are the cancer types where KRT40 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
