Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRT4 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated KRT4 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in sarcoma (SARC), where higher KRT4 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated KRT4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
SARC, SKCM, and HNSC are the cancer types where KRT4 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
