Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRT28 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KRT28’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where KRT28 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KRT28 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, UCEC, and LUSC are the cancer types where KRT28 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
