Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRT18P56 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KRT18P56’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where KRT18P56 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KRT18P56 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and PAAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
STAD, KIRC, and BRCA are the cancer types where KRT18P56 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
