Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KRT18P46 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KRT18P46’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where KRT18P46 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KRT18P46 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, BRCA, and STAD are the cancer types where KRT18P46 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
