Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KMT5C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 17 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KMT5C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where KMT5C RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KMT5C is over-expressed in tumor.
KIRP, HNSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where KMT5C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
