Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KMT5A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KMT5A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where KMT5A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KMT5A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, LIHC, and LUSC are the cancer types where KMT5A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
