Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KLK9 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KLK9’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where KLK9 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KLK9 is over-expressed in tumor.

LUSC, HNSC, and KIRP are the cancer types where KLK9 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
