Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KLK5 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated KLK5 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where higher KLK5 Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated KLK5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
LUSC, KIRP, and BLCA are the cancer types where KLK5 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
