Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, KLK14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of KLK14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where KLK14 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types KLK14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, KIRC, and LUSC are the cancer types where KLK14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
